  • Feeding SWVA (Feeding America Branch)- Check out their searchable food pantry map below

  • YMCA Meals on Main for youth and children. Bring kids Mondays & Fridays 3-6 pm for multiple to-go meals and snacks.  

  • Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry - 706 Harding Ave, Blacksburg, 540-951-8134. Mondays 4-6, Tue-Wed-Thur 10-12. In need of dried beans, rice, non-perishables.

  • The Giving Tree Food Pantry - 2455 Peppers Ferry Rd NW Christiansburg, Fridays, 4:30 to 6:30pm. New patrons should bring ID with proof of current residence. No proof of need required. Please stay in your car. In need of cash donations. 

  • Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program. The office is closed, but still providing food assistance. Please call 540-382-6186 or 381-1561.

  • Spiritual Roots Food Bank, Dwelling Place Church, 3325 N. Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA. Tues & Wed 4pm-6pm. Bring ID. One visit per person every 30 days.

  • No Kid Hungry - Caregivers seeking meals for children can text the word “FOOD” (or “COMIDA”) to 877-877 to find emergency food distribution sites in their neighborhoods. Note: this service is currently active in Colorado, Hawaii, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. 

  • SNAP Benefits (Food Stamps): Households in need may apply for SNAP immediately and are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Households may file applications in person, by mail, by fax, by telephone to the Enterprise Customer Service Center at 855-635-4370 or online at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov

  • New River Community Action’s Emergency Assistance Program

Giles County

Click Here to View Bus Schedule & Delivery Route  - GCPS will be providing free meals (breakfast & lunch) to all children through age 18 (or through 21 if enrolled in GCPS). Children MUST be present to receive the meals. Monday's bag will include breakfast & lunch for 2 days; Wednesday's bag will include breakfast & lunch for 3 days. Some items must be heated, most are shelf stable items. Limited bus routes will be used to deliver these meals. Pulaski County

Pulaski County Public Schools (PCPS) are closed due to concerns over the coronavirus beginning March 16, 2020. The PCPS School Nutrition Program will be providing a packaged breakfast and lunch during this closure.

 

We will utilize the following schedule:

o Monday: 2 breakfasts & 2 lunches

o Wednesday: 3 breakfasts & 3 lunches

Meals are for children ages 2 through 18 (or up to age 21 for student with disabilities).

Drive through to pick up meals will be available at the following areas from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm beginning Wednesday March 18th, 2020. Drive Though Pick up Points Via Buses in the Parking Lot: French’s Chapel-canceled Parrot Church of God- 2:15-3:00 Snowville Elementary Critzer Elementary Pulaski County High School Morgan’s Chapel-canceled Fairlawn Baptist Church (1:00-2:00) Dublin United Methodist Church Abundant Life School buses will be parked in the following Parking Lots as Pick up Points: Old Hiwassee Elementary Old Draper Elementary School Central Gym Washington Square (1:00 – 1:30) Meadow View (1:30– 2:00) Abby Court (1:00 – 2:00)-canceled

 

More information about distribution locations and deliveries will be available on the pcva.us website and on your child’s school website by Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Parents are asked to accompany students at all sites to accept the meals. Please use this email address to request meals pulaskicountyschoolmeals@pcva.us or call this number if you’re not able to connect with a meal distribution site 540-643-0104. If you need the Instructional packet and/or meals use this email or phone number to request. All Meal home deliveries has ended.

Montgomery Couty 

Montgomery County schools are delivering meals from school buses. Students should be at their regular bus stops four hours later than the usual pick up time. Breakfast and lunch will be delivered at the same time. Meals are free for all MCPS students.

Any grade level can pick up at either stop time. Both routes will run, but students are not limited to their normal route time. 

Visit www.mcps.org/bus to check the pick up time and location nearest to your home. 

 

Floyd County

Floyd will offer breakfast and lunch beginning Monday, March 16th, to all students between 10 am and 12 pm at each school. Please  have the student with you and do not leave your car. There is a drive-up system in place, On Tuesday food will be delivered to the normal bus stops four hours after normal times.

Radford City 

Radford schools are offering a grab and go food system that will offer both breakfast and lunch to students. Use your child's bus number and designated bus time then add three hours to their regular morning pick up time to find out when they can pick up their lunches.

 

If your student is unable to pick up meals at their bus stop they can go pick up meals at McHarg elementary between 10:20 to 12:20. The student must be present with their family to pick up food. If you have further questions you can call RCPS at 540-731-3647.

Roanoke County

Pick up At Schools - A pre-prepared lunch and bagged breakfast will be available for pick up from Noon to 1 p.m. at the following schools:

  • Burlington Elementary School

  • Cave Spring Middle School 

  • Glen Cove Elementary School

  • Glenvar High School 

  • Green Valley Elementary School

  • Herman L. Horn Elementary School

  • Mount Pleasant Elementary School

  • Oak Grove Elementary School

  • William Byrd Middle School

Delivery of meals - If you are unable to get to a school to pickup a meal due to transportation, health or other reasons, please call your child's school.  We may be able to arrange special delivery of meals.

Bread of Life of Floyd Co.VA - Floyd

Using Floyd Baptist Church Annex Building to give out boxed meals to anyone that needs it in the community.  Monday thru Friday from 11 am - 1 pm. We will be serving an entree, and there are sides available to take one. Additionally, there are things on the tables that each person will be allowed to get what they need.

For any elderly in need please contact them and they will deliver to you, as well as if errands are needed to be run.

Anyone wanting to volunteer please be at the Floyd Baptist Church Annex Building at 10 am.

Donations will be accepted from 10 am -2 pm.
